The tradition continues at our house! Happy Easter friends! After services this morning (my kids WANTED to go to the 7:30AM mass!) we came back to a yummy breakfast and then commenced work on our 2nd annual family peep contest!
Inspired by the Washington Post peep contest, our family each takes on a theme and using peeps, creates a scene of something funny, important, meaningful, or significant for that year or years past. Inspiration can come from pop culture, politics, news stories, tv programs, movies, and so on.
The kitchen was a mess during our busy creating time and paint and glue guns were flying everywhere!
Here they are:
My son chose the theme of Chopped from the Food Network show…..
My daughter chose the LMFAO band as her theme….
My Hubs chose a Peep Wars theme with a darling little Yoda….
|yes, that is a Peep under there!|
And I chose the Hunger Games theme….
|Katniss and Foxface|
It took a lot of effort and we voted on a winner.
Which one do you like best???
The joyful news that He is risen does not change the contemporary world. Still before us lie work, discipline, sacrifice. But the fact of Easter gives us the spiritual power to do the work, accept the discipline, and make the sacrifice.Henry Knox Sherrill
