The tradition continues at our house! Happy Easter friends! After services this morning (my kids WANTED to go to the 7:30AM mass!) we came back to a yummy breakfast and then commenced work on our 2nd annual family peep contest!
Inspired by the Washington Post peep contest, our family each takes on a theme and using peeps, creates a scene of something funny, important, meaningful, or significant for that year or years past. Inspiration can come from pop culture, politics, news stories, tv programs, movies, and so on.
The kitchen was a mess during our busy creating time and paint and glue guns were flying everywhere!
Here they are:
My daughter chose the LMFAO band as her theme….
My Hubs chose a Peep Wars theme with a darling little Yoda….
| yes, that is a Peep under there! |
And I chose the Hunger Games theme….
| Katniss and Foxface |
It took a lot of effort and we voted on a winner.
The joyful news that He is risen does not change the contemporary world. Still before us lie work, discipline, sacrifice. But the fact of Easter gives us the spiritual power to do the work, accept the discipline, and make the sacrifice.

Thanks for voting Carri! My son will be thrilled. It was a fun thing to do with them and they really get into it so it has become a tradition of ours now.
Have to say that is the most unique use of Peeps I've seen. Love the little Yoda.
Omg!!! So awesome. Yoda gets the prize for me, but all so creative!
Haa Haa! Yoda! That is awesome:) I think Peeps are grody but you have put them to good use! Happy late Easter Kim!
Thanks! Hubs will be all over bragging rights with his little Yoda. It did turn out cute. He cut and molded the ears out of peeps too. Luckily we even had just the right color paint!
The Star Wars theme is brilliant! Yoda is totally cool.
My hubs thanks you, diplo_daddy!
